Plunge into the heart of this historic building with a 20-minute guided tour. Immerse yourself in the history of this fully renovated structure, classified as a cultural heritage site. This historic building in Nouméa, once marked by a fire and two cyclones, was rehabilitated in 2022 after two years of work. Its four brick facades, gabled roof, and lime-rendered walls reflect the architecture of former penitentiary administrations. The interior pillars bear witness to the city's evolution. Classified as cultural heritage for its façade, columns, and steps, it now houses the offices of the cultural department and is open for visits, fully restored and modernized.
