Explore Hienghène’s underwater world with Babou Côté Océan and discover a variety of dive sites in a lagoon inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Babou Côté Océan takes you out to explore Hienghène’s remarkable underwater world, in an exceptional setting at the heart of the first marine protected area on the north-east coast. Here, scuba diving reveals the full richness of the lagoon, with outstanding biodiversity, sites offering very different atmospheres, and spectacular underwater formations including arches, faults, tunnels and canyons.

The operator offers around fifteen dive sites, allowing each outing to bring a different experience. More than ten of these sites are within the 20-metre zone, making this activity especially appealing for certified Level 1 divers, while still offering plenty to enjoy for more experienced divers. Trips are run in small groups in a friendly atmosphere, using boats designed for comfort and well suited to the activities on offer.

Based in the Koulnoué tribe, Babou Côté Océan is ideal for visitors wanting to experience Hienghène’s iconic marine scenery through accessible, immersive and memorable dives.

Single dive: 7,500 XPF.
Two-dive trip: 13,500 XPF.
Night dive: 12,000 XPF.
Refresher dive: 12,000 XPF.
Discovery package including an introductory session, 2 dives and a dive logbook: 30,000 XPF.
Private trip for up to 6 people, including boat, instructor and equipment: 100,000 XPF.
Additional person on the private trip: 15,000 XPF.

Buoyancy compensator hire: 1,000 XPF.
One-piece 5 mm wetsuit or 3 mm shorty hire: 1,000 XPF.
Regulator set with octopus and pressure gauge hire: 1,000 XPF.
BCD, wetsuit and regulator package hire: 2,500 XPF.
Dive computer hire: 1,000 XPF.
Dive torch hire: 1,000 XPF.
