Poé's herbarium

Diving site, Herbarium in Bourail
  • Located in the Poé lagoon, a Unesco World Heritage site, this exceptional marine ecosystem is vital for numerous animals such as turtles and dugongs.

  • The Poé seagrass bed is the underwater meadow of seaweed and underwater plants adjacent to Poé beach. It is an extremely rich ecosystem, home to many herbivorous marine species, including green turtles and dugongs. You can observe these animals, as well as rays and fish, by diving or taking a glass-bottomed boat trip. The seagrass beds stretch the entire length of Poé beach, and can be partially seen when the water level is at its lowest, at low tide.
