REX Nouméa

Managed and administered by the ADAMIC association, the REX has a cyber-base of 10 audiovisual workstations (clips, reports, short films, etc.), two multipurpose rooms on the ground floor (including a hip-hop room) and a 250-seat screening room upstairs.
A Nouméa municipal initiative, the REX is a space for culture and youth where a variety of workshops are held throughout the year:
- image education (audiovisual workshops, festivals, etc.)
- urban cultures (hip-hop, slam, rap, djing)
- dance (modern, ragga dancehall, capoeira, etc.), theatre, board games, and so on.
Youth cinema and short film festivals, competitions and other events organised by associations are held there every year.

A film is screened on the last Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. In December, during the Festival en lumière, three thematically linked films are screened.

A “Rex-Pass”, valid for one year, is available for 1,000 CFP, and grants you free admission to all activities. When you join, you get a t-shirt and a Chèque culture pass that allows you to attend four events of your choice during the year.
The Chèque culture is aimed at 12-26 year olds with disabilities, or middle/high school students, scholarship students, apprentices, and Rex Pass holders. It allows you to attend shows for free at the following venues:
- the Rex Nouméa
- the Théâtre de poche
- the Théâtre de l’Ile
- Le Mouv’ Music Café
- the Chapitô of New Caledonia
- the Music Conservatory of New Caledonia
- the Tjibaou Cultural Center.
