The FestPAC (Festival of Pacific Arts and Culture), held every four years since 1972, is the largest cultural gathering in the region. It celebrates the diversity and creativity of Pacific peoples through visual arts, dance, music, traditional skills and contemporary expressions.
In 2028, New Caledonia will host this landmark event, bringing together several thousand participants and visitors from across the Pacific.
A Collective and Recognised Bid
The selection of New Caledonia is the result of a collaborative effort, carried out in close partnership with customary authorities, institutions, civil society and the private sector.
Backed by extensive consultations, the Caledonian bid was officially endorsed by the Council of Pacific Arts and Culture (CPAC) in September 2025.
This recognition rewards a shared commitment and opens the way for a festival that will leave a lasting mark on the cultural history of the archipelago.
Heritage and Transmission
The FestPAC 2028 will be a powerful moment of exchange, sharing and celebration of Oceanian cultures, with a strong focus on showcasing Kanak heritage and the diversity of artistic expressions from across the Blue Continent.
See You in 2028
From 12 to 23 June 2028, New Caledonia will come alive to the rhythm of the FestPAC — a celebration that promises to be both a major popular festival and a moment of pride for the archipelago, offering an exceptional showcase of Pacific culture on the international stage.
