Enjoy humpback whale watching from a Calédonie Charter member boat and observe these magnificent marine mammals while respecting the environment!
The Calédonie Charter association (a non-profit association under the law of 1901) was created in 2010 and brings together 13 charter companies. Its purpose is to observe humpback whales in New Caledonia’s Great Southern Lagoon while ensuring there is minimal impact on these mammals. A signatory of the Cetacean Watching Charter established with the South Province, the association works closely with the Department of the Environment and the Opération Cétacés association to raise public awareness about protecting New Caledonia’s lagoon.
Thanks to this agreement, you’ll not only enjoy watching whales in the best possible conditions, you’ll also find out all the latest information on these little-understood creatures. The WWF has now equipped most of the boats with tablets, so passengers can use the app to identify the cetacean species.
Calédonie Charter offers “whale watching days” departing from Nouméa and Prony every day from mid-July to mid-September. As part of the measures taken to protect the environment, a partnership has been set up with Covoiturage.nc to offer a ride share service to Prony, the whale watching departure point.
