Discover peoples behind the La Foa Cinema Festival, the unmissable event of the region.
The creation of the cinema festival in 1998 was driven by the desire of the community and its mayor at the time, Philippe Gomès, to establish a unique cultural event in New Caledonia that contributes to the development of film dissemination.
Since then, the La Foa cinema festival has been held annually and has been attracting an increasing number of spectators. It has become the first cinematic event in the region! The festival primarily takes place in the cultural spaces of the La Foa commune, but it also showcases feature-length and short films in other communities across different provinces of New Caledonia, including Nouméa, Païta, Boulouparis, Poindimié, among others.
