Surrounded by lush nature, Francis Lôter, a visual artist who has been based in New Caledonia for nearly 20 years, will introduce you to his creative space and works.
In the first 180 m² room, featuring around forty monumental wooden sculptures, you'll follow a path inspired by a Melanesian legend that takes you on the "Great Journey." These totemic sculptures illustrate the cycle of life, from birth to death, and reincarnation into the vegetal or mineral worlds.
Continuing the Great Journey, a second exhibition room invites you to discover paintings and sculptures that reflect and bear witness to the myths and rituals of eternal life in Melanesia. These works are highlighted and interact with original pieces from Papua New Guinea, alongside creations made from elements of the "blue boat" vessels.
