There’s an easy, eco-friendly and inexpensive way to travel around Nouméa and Greater Nouméa: public transport!
Taneo is the public transport network for the Nouméa metropolitan area, serving Nouméa, Dumbéa, Païta, and Le Mont-Dore.
Starting October 1, 2025, the Tanéo network will enhance its service with buses running all day, new stops, two new lines in Païta, and improved service for schoolchildren, marking a step toward a gradual return to a comprehensive network for Greater Nouméa.
Planned frequencies:
- during peak hours (5:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. / 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.): one bus every 20 to 40 minutes;
- during off-peak hours (9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.): one bus every 90 to 120 minutes.
Creation of two new lines
P1: Païta Center → Katiramona → Dumbéa Center (with connections to lines 1, 7, 8, and D4).
P2: Païta Center → Mont-Mou → Païta Center loop (connection at the Païta Center stop with lines 7 and P1)
Organizational changes for schoolchildren
In order to better serve students, starting October 1, lines L3, L4, L5, L7, and L8 will serve the Escoffier stop in front of the high school to avoid students having to go to Moselle.
The schedules for these lines at the Escoffier stop are adjusted to correspond with the school schedule.
