Hiking to the ends of the island to discover Ouvéa's biodiversity and traditions.
Antoine proposes a hike to the north of Ouvéa island to discover the natural wonders of the Northern Pleiades.
Meet in front of Saint-Joseph church for an original three-hour walk. Hnimêk's guided hike explores Ouvéa's far north, the antechamber to the Pleiades. The program includes a short talk on Kanak medicinal plants, a demonstration of cast net fishing, crossing a stretch of dry forest, crossing a channel (beware of the current) and swimming in the pass opposite the islet Unyée. The highlight of the visit is the mangrove where several species of shark come to breed: lemon, black fin or coral. Come close to the nursery, make no noise and observe this unusual spectacle. The extraordinary sensations of a land still untouched by human presence, the walk will introduce you to a surprising ecosystem, between sky and lagoon.

Go to Saint Joseph church which Antoine generally sets as the meeting place.Take care when crossing the Hnimëk channel where the current is often rough. Sharks, sometimes quite large ones, patrol there tirelessly.
