A short distance from Oro Bay with its well-known hotel you’ll find a natural pool carved out of coral, whose reputation has spread far beyond the borders of New Caledonia. The Natural Pool is the perfect place to relax or go snorkelling to see all the tropical fish. It is accessed via a footpath running along an inlet lined with majestic palm trees, whose waters are probably the clearest you've ever seen. This exceptional site can be accessed by making a small 200 CFP donation at the entry gate.

There are several ways of getting to the Natural Pool and Oro Bay. The most scenic is by taking a traditional dugout canoe from Saint-Joseph Bay, after crossing Upi Bay and walking through the rainforest for 45 minutes. Alternatively, you can access it via a footpath from the car park in front of Le Méridien Resort Hotel.
